STRESS

We provide rapidly effective, premium and personalised Hypnotherapy and NLP to clients online globally, or in person in Surrey.  We will work together to explore the ways that Hypnotherapy can help with stress and what you can do to overcome your stress issues.

Not all stress is bad of course. A little bit of pressure can help push us forward to our greatest achievements. Go over that fine line and stress can start to escalate out of control and into a negative spiral.

The last few years have been stressful on a global scale. We’ve had changes that we didn’t choose forced upon us. We’ve had our freedom challenged. We’ve faced an invisible threat whilst the threat to wellbeing and livelihoods has been all around. This can have all kinds of impact from chronic fatigue, physical issues, inability to sleep well, mood swings, tensions with the ones we love to name a few.

These issues can impact our ability to make good decisions and that can further compound the issues if that occurs in the workplace.

We hope this page answers some of your questions.  And if there’s one you’d like us to answer and want to know more about how we work with clients who are experiencing stress in their lives, we offer a free exploratory call.  Book your free consultation now to find out more.

WHY IS STRESS BAD?

In reality, not all stress is bad. A little bit of stress helps you get out of bed in the morning and try that little bit harder to solve a tricky problem. It helps us perform well.

However, that’s not what we think about when we hear the word ‘Stress’. The word is often associated with a struggle, often an unbearable struggle. Should you hear someone say ‘I’m stressed’, I don’t think I’ve ever heard that in the positive context. It’s generally at the point when we start to crumble.

Negative stress is a common problem for many people in all walks of life.  Many of us struggle on with mild forms of stress every day, others find the weight of their perceived problems almost unbearable. Our own reactions vary from day to day. On one day we may brush something off as not important and on another day, the same trigger may cause an emotional explosion or collapse.

The cost of stress personally and physically is huge and can trigger the chemical cortisol to flood our systems.  High levels of cortisol over a prolonged period may:

  • increase your risk for high blood pressure, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, and other chronic diseases.

  • increase appetite and signal the body to shift metabolism to store fat.

  • cause a lack of energy / difficulty sleeping.

The impact on our careers is significant – in 2019/20 828,000 workers suffered from work-related stress, depression or anxiety taking 17.9 million working days off as a result. That’s just work related stress, the number is significantly higher when you look at all stresses.

Some of the ways to potentially beat stress involves changing beliefs, learning new coping strategies and taking action.   They can help because the next time you are in a situation where the pressure could easily rise, you are more able to stay calm.

Sometimes, there can be a deeper, underlying cause of stress and we need to look at people’s values. Perhaps your stress is linked to an event that has caused understandable anxiety such as redundancy, illness or relationship issues. It’s possible to help people deal with the emotional impact of difficult situations so that they can leave feeling better equipped to face the world in a positive, relaxed manner.*

We use hypnotherapy and NLP to help people realise that stress is a problem that can be fixed.  We can help them find ways to deal with stress and handle their day-to-day life with a different, calmer mindset.*

WHY CHOOSE PADDLEFISH PANDA?

We deal with the cause and the effect – Stress can have root causes.  With powerful techniques such as NLP and Time Line Therapy®, it’s possible to remove that root cause and resolve the feelings and memories that are leading to stress.

Learn how to be calmer – Hypnotherapy and NLP can empower you to be able to be calm, which helps calm stress.  Hypnotherapy allows your automatic (or unconscious) behaviour to be different after your sessions.  NLP can enable you to be consciously aware of knowing how to be calmer.

Everything that we do is tailored to your specific situation. Generic stress reduction techniques tend to have only very short lived benefits, if at all.

Emma understands the challenge of juggling a stressful professional life and balancing other priorities through her corporate career, setting up a business from scratch and through the stresses of competitive and extreme sports.

Once you too can deal with stress, you may find your relationships, career and life in general more rewarding and fulfilling. *

WHAT TO EXPECT

After booking your appointment, we’ll start the work before your session even starts by completing some pre-session work to give us a history of your stress, including a log of any time you experience stress before we meet. This will help us start to understand your situation and tailor the session to your needs.

This will help us fully prepare for your session.

Our work together may focus on some of the following:

  • A specific event or issue in your life such as work pressures, a redundancy or break-up that has triggered the stress and which may need to be resolved.

  • Any beliefs that you have about stress, how and when it manifests and what may be causing it

  • Replace any internal negative self-talk with a positive version

  • Many of our clients have a lot of negative internal self-talk which can aggravate the situation. We use a number of techniques to deal with this, often with impressive outcomes.
