C4 PROGRAMME - “SINK OR SWIM”
I was privileged to be part of the coaching team for Channel 4’s Sink or Swim TV series.
We took a group of celebrities from the world of TV and sport who couldn’t swim, including some who had deep rooted fears or phobia of water and trained them to the point where they could attempt an English Channel Relay. All within 10 weeks.
Unfortunately, their attempt didn’t quite make it to France as the weather changed and the attempt had to be aborted for safety reasons.
It was a real privilege to provide coaching and safety support to this unique group of inspiring individuals.
Participants were Linford Christie, Sair Khan, Alex Brooker, James Argent, Georgia Kousoulou, Simon Webb, Rachel Adedeji, Diane Louise Jordan, Tessa Sanderson and Greg Rutherford.
DOVER CHANNEL TRAINING
Each year I train hundreds of swimmers, from all walks of life, to take on incredible swimming challenges like the English Channel.
Professions are as varied as the number of swimmers and include front line medical staff from GPs, nurses, doctors and consultants; accountants; police; charity workers; traders; electricians; teachers; security staff; fire fighters; military personnel; shop workers - the list goes on.
The beach is a complete leveller and everyone is treated the same. The water doesn’t respect rank or title, it just respects training and ambition.
breakthrough clients
I have supported several breakthrough clients who have come to me with a variety of presenting challenges including the some pretty significant limiting beliefs that were holding them back.
Client A had IBS due to a belief that 'I am crap’. We dealt with the limiting belief and the IBS also resolved.
Client B had a hard time making decisions about her business. During her breakthrough session it became apparent that she had a belief that she was responsible for other people’s happiness. Once she realised that this belief was holding her back and we dealt with it, she was able to make decisions easily and rapidly. Those around her also saw that she was more at ease and happier, and they also became happier!
Client C was struggling to progress in his profession. His limiting belief was ‘I am a victim’. We dealt with it and he is now free to make choices about his career and business.
There are plenty of other examples too. Ordinary people who needed a little help to get back on track.
